Also with karils you use 1 bolt per attack which can be costly in the long run, while with msb (e), you don't use arrows nearly as often. There are a total of 63 hard-tier tasks for the Combat Achievements system. Each hard task gives 3 combat achievement points. Kill the Abyssal Sire 20 times. Kill the Abyssal Sire without being hit by any external tentacles. Kill the Abyssal Sire without taking damage from any miasma pools. Kill the Abyssal Sire without letting any Scion mature. But your defence level when rolling a magic attack is 30% defence level and 70% magic level. 70% of defense against Magic is based on the Magic level, while 30% is based on the Defence level. It's magic level only on monsters, 70/30 on players. I advise using magic on karil. Iban blast, toss in a dds spec if you can. Even with amethyst arrows, pretty sure Karil's is better than MSB (I), only by about 5%, but still better. This isn't factoring in the spec, but the extra hit would have to add 5% total DPS just to break even. Compared to Black D'hide, Karils does give less Melee defence, but it gives more Magic and Ranged Defence. The main use for Karils is Magic Defence and I believe it is the strongest Magic Defence armor without a Melee Attack negative, which is why you might see it used more for Melee than for Ranged. I used to consistently get 2 kill trips with karils and a blessed coif, with elite void I scarcely get 2 kill trips and kill times overall seem way slower. I have ornate pool. I try to only eat after killing spawn, during poison pools, or after walking away from fireball to maximize DPS. I’ve never woox walked.
